Roman Samostrokov was born in 1977. in Lviv in a professional family of musicians. At the age of six, he began learning to play the cello at the Talent School in Lviv (Ukraine) in the class of prof. E. E. Spitzer. From 1994 to 1999 continued learning to play on Music Academy in Lviv. He was awarded many scholarships for outstanding achievements Major of Lviv, the President of Ukraine and Maurice Rubeli in Geneva (Switzerland), wherein years 1996-1999 studied at the Music Academy in Neuchatel under the supervision of prof. L.Aeshlimann (student of Pierre Furnier).
He is a laureate of the cello competition Republic of Ukraine (II prize), the International Competition S. Prokofiev in Kyiv (1st prize) and the International Competition Nikolai Lysenko in Kyiv (II prize). He has performed in many European Union countries, including Poland, the Czech Republic, in Hungary, Germany, Portugal, England, and Israel. In Poland, as a soloist, he performed with conductors, among others: Marek Pijarowski, Jerzy Swoboda, Mirosław Błaszczyk, Jan Jazownik, Tadeusz Wojciechowski.

Concert repertoire includes Boccherini, Haydn cello concertos, Brahms, Prokofiev, Lalo, Shostakovich, Elgar, Monn, Beethoven, Schumann and Tchaikovsky. Since 2004 till 2018, he has been a concertmaster and soloist of the Symphony OrchestraLower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra.

The Klassik Modern Orchestra plays an important role in the works of Roman Samostrokov existing since May 2005. The orchestra was founded on his initiative and he is its artistic director. The Klassik Modern orchestra performed between others with the participation of such musicians as Professor Ulrich Grosser (chief conductor of "Igor& Valery Oistrakh Philharmonic Orchestra”in Brussels), Olga Szomanska, Titus Wojnowicz and with Professor Andrzej Chorośiński. It consists of experienced musicians who have previously performed in various orchestras and chamber ensembles, domestic and foreign. And it graces with its presence of various kinds cultural events as well as events organized for the business world.

The 20th Anniversary Conference of the NYSA Euroregion at which under the baton of Tomasz Chmiel, the musical of Andrzej Szymalski and Maciej Gałęski arranged by Roman Samostrokov and the first performance of the poem symphonic "Dark Tower" inspired by the Stiven King's "Dark Tower".

In collaboration with Maciej Galeski Samostrokov composes in years 2015 - 2017 a “Karkonosze” – piano concerto for piano and symphony orchestra. The premiere of the composition meet a very enthusiastic resonance and stand – up ovations.

Anniversary Concerts for Euroregion NYSA in 2018. Samostrokov composes a couple of pieces on this occasion. World Premiere of Carpathian Suite, Suite in the old style, Ouverture Liczyrzepa – were performed in several towns of Poland and Czech Republik and were always rewarded a stand up ovations.

At the end of 2017 Samostrokov composes two pieces in collaboration with Jozef Libersbach as originator. The project named “Musical faces of poetry” contains two compositions on the poetry of C.Norwid and K.Pichlak.The originality of this project is in a special method, Libersbach developed direct transformation letters in music notes so the listeners were cold here, how the letters are taking shape in musical phrases. Project finished with a great success.

Organization and implementation of the 1st Festival ended with great success Film Music that took place in Karpacz 2012. This festival was invented by Roman Samostrokov and thanks to its dynamic program performance at the highest artistic level, he won public recognition and high publicity.

In 2013, Roman Samostrokov completed work on the arrangement of the great symphony orchestra of a two-hour musical tale, fairy tales not only for adults Smog Deszcz - stories by Andrzej Kępiński (music: Wojciech Jasiński, Andrzej Kępiński, Krzysztof Smardz and featuring Roman Samostrokov). Currently, he participates in the work preparing this project artistic on the stages of the philharmonic orchestra and music theaters. Preparations are also underway for the film Smog Deszcz - and these events will be a celebration of music and dance thanks to Roman Samostrokow's artistic enrichment of the work of the idea Andrzej Kępiński.
